    Fresh Ginseng? White Ginseng? Red Ginseng? They are all the same ‘Korean Ginseng’. Let’s find about the different types of Korean Ginseng.

    ① Fresh ginseng : it is a general type of ‘Ginseng’, which is in its intact form right off from the ground. ② White ginseng : It is prepared by drying a fresh ginseng as it is or after peeling off slightly.

    ③ Red ginseng : Red-brown ginsengs prepared by drying fresh ginsengs in steam.

    ④ Taegueksam: It is prepared by steaming fresh ginsengs and then, drying. Their appearances are similar to fresh ginseng, but chewy and moist as red ginseng.

    ⑤ Black ginseng : Red ginseng is prepared by steaming fresh ginseng for 1 to 2 times and then, drying, but black ginseng is steamed for 7 to 9 times so it gets blackened.
